Fluoride Treatment
“A simple, quick treatment that significantly strengthens your teeth and helps prevent cavities — for patients of all ages.”
What Is Fluoride?
Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that strengthens tooth enamel — the hard outer layer that protects your teeth from decay. When applied professionally, fluoride helps reverse early signs of cavities and makes teeth more resistant to acid attacks from bacteria and food.
Who Benefits from Fluoride Treatment?
Fluoride is not just for children. At Remcon Prime Dental, we recommend professional fluoride treatment for:
Children and teenagers during cavity-prone years
Adults with a history of frequent cavities
Patients with dry mouth (xerostomia)
Patients undergoing orthodontic treatment
Patients with exposed root surfaces or receding gums
Patients with crowns, bridges, or implants at the gum line
What Does the Treatment Involve?
Professional fluoride treatment at our office is quick and comfortable:
Your teeth are cleaned and dried
Fluoride is applied as a varnish, gel, or foam
The treatment takes only 1–2 minutes
You are asked to avoid eating or drinking for 30 minutes afterward
How Is This Different from Toothpaste?
Over-the-counter fluoride toothpaste contains a much lower concentration than professional treatments. In-office fluoride delivers a stronger, more targeted dose that penetrates deeper into the enamel for longer-lasting protection.
How Often Is It Recommended?
Children and high-risk adults: every 3–6 months
Low-risk adults: once a year, typically at your regular cleaning visit
